Sliding Movement Without Bronze Liners
Unlike traditional headers, Manzoni Machinery machines do not use bronze liners. Indeed, ram and transfer are mounted on special bearings specifically developed for this application. This ensures the total absence of any play and, therefore, a high heading precision even at high speed. Manzoni Absolute Zero Clearance® permits the production of parts with very tight tolerances and great precision. Furthermore, thanks to the absence of play, punches are always aligned and no adjustments are needed, drastically reducing changeover time.
Three times tougher than traditional machines.
Manzoni Machinery machines, unlike traditional headers, are built only with special steel using the Manzoni Modular Steel Frame® concept. The machine's frame is made of steel with a special assembling technique that ensures sturdiness, rigidity, and high resistance to overloads. Compared to machines with a cast iron frame, it is possible to reach higher heading tonnage while maintaining the machine's dimensions. This allows significant space saving on the shop floor. Headers built with the Manzoni Modular Steel Frame® are three times tougher than traditional machines.
Total absence of vibrations
The machine is based on an innovative timing diagram that, by analyzing time and moving masses, allows it to reach high working speeds smoothly, without loss of balance and with a total absence of vibrations. This great steadiness is the key factor that allows Manzoni Machinery machines to reach high speeds without mechanical stress and with very low noise emissions.
Superior Precision and Accuracy
A special system of cams and levers produces a very high cutting speed and ensures cut-off precision and accuracy. The knife is guided throughout its entire length to avoid even minor deflections that may reduce blank precision, and it does not require any adjustment during job change. For this reason, Manzoni Machinery machines are particularly suitable for the manufacturing of high-precision parts where cut-off accuracy is necessary.
Up to 50% Energy Saving
The main motor of the machine is another innovation in this field. For the first time, a vector motor with dual encoder and torque control has been installed on a header. Manufactured in Italy by a leading company in this sector, the motor is controlled by an advanced vector drive and is in constant communication with two encoders installed on the crankshaft and the motor. This powerful system guarantees precise torque control, allowing the header to operate at high performance even at low speeds. The new vector control supplies power to the motor only when needed, enabling low energy consumption and significant energy savings up to 50% compared to traditional machines.
Easy and quick tool change system
To simplify tool changes for the operator and, above all, to reduce downtime, Manzoni Machinery machines are designed with the user-friendly Read, Set & Go® system. This system enables any operator on the shop floor, even those without prior experience, to quickly and easily set up the header. The position of all mechanical components is clearly indicated by markers, readers, and displays, allowing the machine to be configured exactly as it was the last time the same part reference was produced. This results in a significant reduction in changeover time. In addition, the ergonomic design, low frame, and excellent accessibility of all adjustment points make the operator's job both easier and more comfortable.
User-friendly Touch Screen
A user-friendly color touchscreen control panel, easily movable as needed, allows the operator to manage all machine functions without having to move around. Based on advanced computer technology, the interface is intuitive and easy to understand. Thanks to its large memory capacity, it can store the complete machine setup under an article number, making future production of the same part significantly quicker and easier.
Low Speed to Check Tools
The advanced technology inverter, combined with the vector motor, allows the operator to approach the punch and dies at extremely low speed to check and prevent any potential tool damage. A simple touch of an icon on the touchscreen activates the Manzoni Slow Motion Ram® mode.
Produce Very Short Parts
Kick-out on the die side is achieved through cams with the special Soft Kick Out Cam® profile, which provides a smooth and progressive action. This makes it possible to easily produce very short parts without the need for special tooling or complex and expensive mechanical devices.
Special Parts Production
K.O. stroke and K.O. position can be individually adjusted by simply setting the P.K.O. cam. The long K.O. stroke allows the production of special parts, and in the case of very short lengths, the K.O. pins can be used to support the parts while they are ejected from the dies, providing more time for the fingers to grab them.
Transfer Fingers with Extra Deep System
The transfer fingers are designed with a special movement that allows the production of particularly complex parts. The Manzoni Extra Deep Forming® system, thanks to the quick and wide movement of the fingers, enables the punch to penetrate deeply into the dies. This allows the production of parts that would normally require a larger standard header, resulting in oversized heads and higher costs. The system also makes it possible to produce extra deep holes without the need for more expensive machinery.
Ensures Parts Are Always Stripped Out
All machines are equipped with an extra transfer finger to place the produced part as needed. The extra finger is very useful for the production of rivets and rivet nuts because it makes sure that parts are always stripped out of the pin, thus avoiding dangerous overloading to the machine.
Ensuring High and Consistent Heading Precision
The ram movement is achieved through a new system that directs all heading forces onto the wedge, instead of applying load to the connecting rod and crankshaft. This eliminates backlash and wear, ensuring high and consistent heading precision even after many years of operation.
